Think of it as an extra level of accountability when things get tough—for example, if you find yourself procrastinating or stressing about something else, or letting something slip by that should be done; checking in with these questions can help you keep going in a positive direction toward reaching your ultimate goal.

  • What do I want?
  • Why do I want it?
  • What will I do to achieve my goal?
  • How long will it take me?
  • Why is my goal relevant to me?
  • When do I want to achieve my goal?
  • How will I know if I have achieved my goal?

Each time you set a new personal or professional goal, make sure it fits these criteria and have fun achieving them!

I would recommend using Evernote for setting your SMART Goals. Put all of them together in one place and refer back to it often so that you don’t lose sight of where you’re going and why.
